Chef De Partie Job Description

As a Chef De Partie, you will be responsible for leading and guiding a team of culinary professionals in the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes. You will direct and support your team members to ensure that all aspects of food production are carried out efficiently and effectively.

  • Directs, coaches, supports, supervises, and evaluates (with the Sous Chef) all direct reports.
  • Must have excellent food knowledge and a full understanding of culinary terms.
  • Responsible for maintaining the quality and consistency of taste in company recipes.
  • Proficient in completing tasks and working efficiently and productively.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful as a Chef De Partie, you must possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • A minimum of 8 years in an upscale hotel, resort, cruise ship or convention banqueting service and at least 2 years as Chef de Partie.
  • A culinary school degree is required.
  • Very strong management skills in a multicultural and dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.
  • Superior customer service, teambuilding, and conflict resolution skills.
