Procurement Specialist

The Procurement Specialist plays a pivotal role in sourcing, purchasing, and managing key raw materials for manufacturing solar mounting structures, transmission towers, and wind towers.

This crucial position ensures an uninterrupted supply of quality materials at competitive prices, optimises procurement strategies, and manages supplier relationships to support production schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops and executes procurement strategies for raw materials based on production demands and market conditions.
  • Identifies, evaluates, and negotiates with suppliers and vendors to secure the best terms and maintain a robust supply chain.
  • Issues and manages purchase orders, tracks deliveries, and resolves any procurement-related issues to ensure timely availability of materials.
  • Monitors market trends and pricing fluctuations for steel products and adjusts purchasing plans accordingly.
  • Collaborates closely with production, quality control, finance, and plant planning teams to align procurement with manufacturing needs and quality standards.
  • Manages inventory levels effectively to balance between availability and cost.
  • Ensures compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintains accurate procurement documentation and prepares reports on procurement performance, cost savings, and supplier evaluations.
  • Supports vendor development and conducts periodic supplier audits for quality and delivery performance.
  • Assists in continuous improvement initiatives in the procurement process to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Materials Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Proven experience in raw material procurement in steel or manufacturing industries, preferably related to construction or heavy engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of HRC, coated steel, hot rolled plates, and supply chain dynamics.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyse market trends and make data-driven procurement decisions.
  • Proficient in procurement SAP Hana applications.
  • Strong organisational skills with ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Knowledge of import/export procedures is a plus.
