The Raw Material Store Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the timely availability of raw materials, accurate record keeping, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
This position requires effective management of day-to-day operations of the raw material store, including receipt, storage, issuance, and record maintenance. The Specialist must ensure all raw materials are properly labeled, identified, and stored as per SOPs and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the flow of raw materials from procurement to production, ensuring timely availability without disruption.
- Conduct regular stock verification, cycle counts, and reconciliation of physical vs. system stock to maintain accuracy.
- Coordinate with Procurement, Production, and Quality teams to ensure compliance with ISO, GMP, and other regulatory requirements for raw material handling.
- Maintain a FIFO/FEFO system for material issuance to prevent expired or obsolete materials from entering the supply chain.
- Monitor storage conditions (temperature, humidity, cleanliness) to maintain material quality and prevent contamination.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies for raw material handling, documentation, and disposal.
- Train and supervise store assistants/handlers on material handling, safety, and SOP adherence to ensure a high level of competence within the team.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain/Logistics/Science/Commerce or related field.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in raw material store management, preferably in pharmaceuticals/medical devices/manufacturing industry.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/Tally or equivalent).
- Knowledge of inventory management techniques (FIFO, FEFO, JIT) and ability to apply them effectively.
- Strong understanding of ISO 13485, GMP, and regulatory compliance related to raw material handling.

- Excellent knowledge of inventory management and material control.

- Good coordination and communication skills.
- Ability to manage a team of store assistants and handlers.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word) and ERP systems.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
