Job Overview:

The Merchant Banking Head oversees the execution of IPO mandates from start to finish, ensuring timely preparation and submission of offer documents.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate with internal teams (origination, compliance, research, sales) and external advisors (lawyers, auditors, registrars, etc.)
  • Stay up-to-date with SEBI, MCA, and stock exchange regulations related to IPOs and public offerings
  • Manage regulatory queries, observations, and approvals with a high degree of accuracy and professionalism

Interpersonal Skills and Industry Network are essential for success:

  • Strong interpersonal skills foster collaboration with various stakeholders
  • A robust industry network including regulators and other authorities is critical for effective communication

Expertise in Issue Management requires:

  • Serving as a primary point of contact for clients during the IPO process
  • Builiding and maintaining strong relationships with promoters, board members, and senior employees of client companies

Reporting and Accountability involve:

  • Ensuring accurate reporting of all material data

Due Diligence entails:

  • Conducting financial and legal due diligence
  • Liasing with third parties including consultants, exchanges, regulators

Marketing Strategies include:

  • Assisting in planning investor roadshows, analyst meets, and IPO marketing strategies (Domestic and International)
  • Liasing with research and sales team to ensure effective messaging to institutional and retail investors
