Electrical Design Engineer Role Summary:

This is a key position in our organization, responsible for the design of low voltage reticulation and distribution systems. The successful candidate will be working on projects involving UPS sources, using AMTECH/Electrical OM software to produce designs for low voltage systems.

The Senior Electrical Design Engineer will be involved in operating software to select cable types, protective devices, and self-checking results. This role requires excellent technical skills, including experience in rail station environments, Network Rail, TfL & LUL standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design general lighting systems, emergency lighting systems, and cable management systems (CMS) with trunking, tray, and conduits.
  • Presentation of design onto schematic and 2D layout drawings using Bentley Microstation and AECOsim.
  • 3D modeling of MEP services, including cable management, pipework, ductwork, etc.
  • Supervise and verify designer/modeler work to meet project requirements.
  • Interpret client specification requirements and develop designs accordingly.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Qualifications meeting UK Engineering Institution Chartership requirements.
  • BS standards qualification.
  • Multi-disciplinary design coordination.
  • Experience in rail station environment, Network Rail, TfL & LUL standards.
Mandatory Skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • British Chartered Engineer status or equivalent.
  • Membership to an accredited engineering body.
  • Fluent English with technical terminology understanding.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency.

Responsibilities also include ensuring health and safety compliance, managing delegated tasks, participating in project meetings, and identifying potential risk issues.
