Senior Electrical Design Engineer

 

Job Description:

  • Design and lead the primary design of substations, including concept, FEED, and detail design, for AIS/GIS/Hybrid Substations up to 400kV for utility companies and developers based in various regions worldwide.
  • Develop electrical designs for HV/LV distribution systems, offshore substations, thermal power plants, hydropower generation, solar, wind, and BESS projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems and equipment.
  • Perform calculations for substation primary engineering, including sag tension, SCF, conductor sizing, earthing, lightning protection, and CT/VT sizing.
  • Design and develop layouts for outdoor switchyards, indoor substations, trench/tray layouts, lighting, earthing, and lightning protection.
  • Prepare technical specifications, data sheets, and tender documents for electrical equipment, including transformers, DG sets, AIS/GIS/Hybrid Switchgear, cable, UPS, battery charger, and distribution boards.
  • Review vendor drawings, evaluate technical bids, and prepare fee estimates/proposals.
  • Participate in knowledge sharing sessions, foster awareness of health and safety practices, and promote best practices within the team.

 

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from a reputable institution.
  • Core experience in primary design of substations (concept, FEED, detail design) for AIS/GIS/Hybrid Substations up to 400KV.
  • Proficiency in ETAP software, familiarity with Dialux, and basic knowledge of AUTOCAD/BIM 360/ACC, Navisworks, and Revit.
  • Strong communication skills, self-motivation, and a keen interest in adding value to the team/organization.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple responsibilities, and prioritize tasks effectively.
