Expert Database Solutions Architect Needed

About the Role

We are seeking an accomplished Database Solutions Architect to lead the design and implementation of cutting-edge database solutions for storing and retrieving time-series financial data.

Main Responsibilities
  • Data Management and Modelling:
    • Design, implement, and maintain highly scalable database schemas for ingesting large volumes of market data in real-time.
    • Develop efficient ETL processes for transforming and loading data into relational and non-relational databases.
    • Ensure data integrity, consistency, and accuracy across all databases.
  • API Development and Integration:
    • Create robust APIs to provide programmatic access to both historical and real-time market data.
    • Implement high-performance data retrieval services that can handle low-latency queries and high-throughput traffic.
    • Collaborate with application developers to integrate database services with trading, analytics, and visualization tools.
  • Performance Optimisation:
    • Architect and manage database solutions capable of handling extremely high write and read loads associated with tick-by-tick data.
    • Implement advanced performance tuning techniques, including indexing, query optimisation, and caching strategies.
    • Develop load balancing mechanisms to distribute user requests efficiently across multiple database instances.
  • System Maintenance and Monitoring:
    • Monitor database performance, conduct regular health checks, and troubleshoot issues in a high-pressure environment.
    • Implement robust backup, disaster recovery, and high-availability solutions.
    Requirements
    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
    • Proven experience as a Database Engineer, Data Architect, or similar role.
    • Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with both relational and non-relational databases.
    • Solid programming skills in Python, Java, or C++.
    • Familiarity with cloud platforms and related database services.
