Director of Software Engineering Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Director of Software Engineering to lead our technical teams and drive impact within projects across departments.

As a key member of our organization, you will utilize your expertise in software engineering to drive multiple complex projects and initiatives, while serving as a primary decision maker for your teams.

  • Lead technology and process implementations for AML/KYC products.
  • Drive a team of talented engineers to deliver customer business problems and accelerate the adoption of Cloud services.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and business leaders to define and deliver on the roadmap to cloud.
  • Work closely with Product and Business to deliver technology solutions that meet business requirements.
  • Makes decisions that influence teams resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures.
  • Carries governance accountability for coding decisions, control obligations, and measures of success such as cost of ownership, maintainability, and portfolio operations.
  • Delivers technical solutions that can be leveraged across multiple businesses and domains.
  • Influences peer leaders and senior stakeholders across the business, product, and technology teams.
Required Skills and Qualifications

We are looking for candidates with formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience. Additionally, 5+ years of experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within their domain of expertise.

Proven experience of leading a team of engineers to deliver mission critical projects is essential.

Experience in developing and delivering mission critical solutions to AWS, working on cloud technologies - Kubernetes, Kafka, Etc., and developing large scale systems using Java Spring Boot & React are also required.

Maintaining overall knowledge in latest technologies and trends, ability to work collaboratively in teams and develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goal, experience working at code level, excellent verbal and written communication, and demonstrated leading large enterprise teams are preferred qualifications.

Financial services experience and AML/KYC experience are also preferred.
