Building Materials Category Strategist

We are category creators and front-runners in the construction industry.

The construction industry has been highly unorganized and severely tech-deficit globally. We aim to disrupt the industry completely using technology and process – creating a playbook for the industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Category Strategy & Revenue Ownership :
    • Drive sales and profitability across assigned regions.
    • Develop strategies for category expansion, margin improvement, and cost efficiency.
    • Monitor market trends, customer demand, and pricing to optimize sourcing and sales strategies.
  • P&L Management :
    • Take end-to-end ownership of regional P&Ls.
    • Manage key metrics including top-line revenue, gross margin, cost of goods, and working capital.
    • Align category performance with overall business targets and contribute to strategic planning.
  • Team Leadership :
    • Lead and manage teams of category and procurement managers.
    • Set clear KPIs, drive performance reviews, and enable skill development for team members.
    • Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and high performance.
  • Vendor & Supply Chain Management :
    • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships.
    • Lead negotiations for better terms and pricing.
    • Ensure compliance, quality standards, and delivery timelines are met.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration :
    • Coordinate closely with project execution, logistics, finance, and technology teams.
    • Support project timelines by ensuring just-in-time availability and minimizing stock-outs or excess inventory.

Candidate Profile:

Experience: 10–18 years in procurement, category management, or supply chain.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or Business; MBA preferred.
