Mortgage Pre-Closing Specialist

Job Description

The Mortgage Pre-Closing Specialist is responsible for overseeing the review of loan packages, creation of Initial and subsequent Closing Disclosures (CDs), and coordination with Title and Settlement agents to ensure timely closing.

The role requires 3-4 years of experience in preparing Initial and Final closing documents. The specialist will work closely with team members to meet business goals and objectives.

  • Request fees from settlement agent and perform fee analysis
  • Prepare Prelim closing disclosure
  • Issue initial closing disclosures/re-disclosures to client
  • Review flood insurance/flood certifications, Title commitment, ownership of deed, Loan approval, tax cert, and prelim closing disclosures
  • Closely monitor individual closing pipeline, workload, and volume levels for maximum balance and efficiency
  • Review Power of Attorneys (POA)
  • Review Cash to close
  • Create closing documents and monitor required waiting periods
  • Request preclosing audit prior to Closing
  • Deliver final closing documents
  • Review final closing documents and clear to fund
  • Ability to understand regulatory requirements and impacts
  • Medium - High degree of familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field
  • Reviews and prepares disclosures, including Loan Estimate and Closing Disclosure
  • Request wire
  • Ensure disbursement takes place and loan moves to post close
  • Ensure proper and effective communication with settlement agent
  • Review signed closing packages for accuracy
  • Provide funding authorization to Title/Escrow Agents

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent for US Operation and graduation degree for India Operations with 18 months of experience in preparing Initial and Final closing documents
  • Should have knowledge of commonly used mortgage concepts, practices, procedures, and Fannie Freddie guidelines to complete tasks
  • Should have working knowledge with any Loan origination systems
  • Should possess basic knowledge to work on MS Office tools
  • Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
