Job Title: Progress Openedge Support Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Application Support Engineer to join our team. This role involves providing critical production support, issue resolution, monitoring, and minor enhancements for business-critical applications built on Progress OpenEdge (ABL/4GL).

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide Level 2 and Level 3 support for applications built on Progress OpenEdge.
  • Monitor application performance and ensure system availability.
  • Analyze and resolve incidents, service requests, and problem tickets within established Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement long-term fixes to recurring issues.
  • Coordinate with development teams for bug fixes, enhancements, and release deployments.
  • Support application upgrades, patches, and migration activities.

Requirements:

  • Strong hands-on experience with Progress OpenEdge (ABL/4GL) in a support environment.
  • Good understanding of Progress Database concepts and performance troubleshooting.
  • Experience in incident management, problem management, and change management.
  • Familiarity with UNIX/Linux commands and scripting.
  • Exposure to ticketing tools such as ServiceNow, JIRA, or Remedy.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of integration with APIs/web services.
  • Experience in working with global support models.
  • Basic knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) / Agile methodologies.
