Senior FIX Analyst Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior FIX Analyst to fill a key role in our global FIX Connectivity team. This individual will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand bespoke business workflows and translate them into software solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • External communication with clients, brokers, and their technology vendors
  • Collaboration with sales, implementation, development, product development, and support teams
  • Participation in strategic projects, including system improvements, regulatory changes, and new functionality rollouts

Requirements:

  • A deep understanding of the FIX protocol (versions 4.2/4.4)
  • Experience with programming languages (Java, C++, C, Python)
  • Proficiency in Unix/Linux-based operating systems and applications
  • Knowledge of databases and basic SQL queries (Oracle/SQL)
  • An understanding of the FIX certification process
  • Experience in electronic trading environments, particularly in FIX onboarding or support
  • Familiarity with networking protocols, VPN, extranet connectivity, and TCP/IP concepts
  • Exposure to asset classes such as equities, futures, options, and FX
  • Proven training and mentoring skills for junior team members
  • Experience with project tracking tools (Jira) and documentation platforms (Confluence)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work in multiple time zones (HK/EU/US hours)

Preferred Skills:

  • Scripting knowledge in Shell or Python
  • Familiarity with algorithmic trading
  • Previous experience with order management systems (OMS), exchange management systems (EMS), or trading firms
  • The development of tooling and processes to drive efficiencies
