Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced engineering leader to join our team as the Founding Head of Engineering. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires strong technical expertise and excellent communication skills.

The successful candidate will own the architecture and development of our artificial intelligence platform, design scalable and reliable backend infrastructure, lead and mentor a high-performing engineering team, and collaborate closely with product, operations, and implementation teams.

This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the technical direction and execution of our platform, drive innovation, and contribute to company-wide decisions as a core member of the leadership team.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • 7–10 years of experience in backend, platform, or systems engineering
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (Master's preferred or equivalent real-world experience)
  • Deep experience with Python or comparable backend languages in production environments
  • Proven track record designing and scaling complex systems and APIs
  • Experience leading engineering teams or projects with high accountability and ownership
  • Familiarity with data pipelines, distributed systems, and workflow orchestration
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make architecture decisions under ambiguity
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams
  • Startup experience or mindset — adaptable, resourceful, and focused on outcomes
