About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Legal Counsel to support our growing Digital Business and E-Commerce initiatives.

The successful candidate will provide strategic legal advice, manage commercial transactions, ensure compliance with IT and FDI regulations, and enable business growth through proactive risk management.

  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial and transactional contracts with global customers and vendors
  • Advise management on legal issues related to digital business, IT laws, e-commerce, FDI policies, Govt and Pvt tendering
  • Identify and mitigate legal risks in business operations while enabling strategic growth
  • Stay updated on legal and regulatory trends impacting e-commerce and digital businesses
  • Collaborate with internal teams to prepare MIS reports and support compliance initiatives
  • Liaise with external stakeholders including OEMs, JV partners, consortium partners, vendors, statutory authorities, and external lawyers

Key Responsibilities

The role involves:

  1. Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate commercial and transactional contracts with global customers and vendors
  2. Legal Advice: Advise management on legal issues related to digital business, IT laws, e-commerce, FDI policies, Govt and Pvt tendering
  3. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate legal risks in business operations while enabling strategic growth
  4. Staying Up-to-Date: Stay updated on legal and regulatory trends impacting e-commerce and digital businesses
  5. Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams to prepare MIS reports and support compliance initiatives

Qualifications

We are looking for candidates with:

  • Educational Qualifications: Law degree (LLB) from a Tier 1 or Tier 2 Indian law college. LLM or specialization in relevant legal fields is an advantage.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in e-commerce and digital business law. Prior exposure to start-up environments is a plus.
  • Skills: Strong contract management and negotiation skills. Proficiency in laws relating to payment gateways, FDI regulations, and IT compliance. Analytical thinking, effective communication, and proactive risk management. Ability to collaborate across departments and work with external partners.

Additional Information

Experience gained from a reputable commercial law firm and then made transition to the in-house legal team of a recognized entity particularly in sectors such as technology, digital, automotive, FMCG, or other manufacturing.
