Procurement Manager Job Description

The Procurement Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing the sourcing, vendor management, and procurement of materials and services for infrastructure projects. This critical position ensures the timely delivery of high-quality products and services while maintaining cost-effectiveness.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop procurement strategies aligned with project requirements to optimize resource allocation and ensure seamless execution.
  • Evaluate vendors/suppliers for quality, pricing, and reliability to establish strong relationships and secure competitive advantages.
  • Negotiate contracts and terms to achieve cost savings and minimize risks.
  • Monitor inventory, logistics, and material delivery schedules to maintain efficient operations and prevent delays.
  • Maintain accurate procurement documentation, records, and reports to ensure compliance and inform data-driven decisions.
  • Collaborate with project managers and site teams to forecast material needs and develop effective procurement plans.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain/Procurement/Engineering or related field.
  • 3–6 years of procurement experience in construction or infrastructure, preferably with a proven track record of success.
  • Strong vendor management and negotiation skills to build and maintain effective relationships.
  • Knowledge of ERP/procurement software to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving ability to navigate complex situations and drive results.
