About the Role

The primary responsibility of this position is to maintain operational efficiency by continuously analyzing food production quality and cost.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain set standards for budget management and monitor time efficiency.
  • Provide ongoing training and ensure adherence to corporate guidelines.
  • Ensure safe, quality food products and customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and implement systems, procedures, and rules in line with organizational objectives and timescales.
  • Work within a technical area of expertise to enhance service and product quality.
  • Maintain an accommodating and helpful demeanor.
  • Accept objectives set by others and work within agreed parameters to complete tasks.
  • Mentor, counsel, coach, and support subordinates to boost morale and personal esteem.
  • Promote a positive atmosphere among crew members, ensuring fair and unbiased treatment.
  • Evaluate discrepancies (quality, taste, appearance) immediately.
  • Collaborate with Section Heads to prepare daily electronic food requisitions according to forecasted figures.
  • Monitor the Dinner Service Line to ensure smooth and efficient service, presentation, and final plating.
  • Assess production and preparation levels using the Culinary Checklist.
  • Maintain adherence to Public Health regulations at all times.
Qualifications
  • Advanced culinary skills, leadership, and experience.
  • A minimum of 8 years in the profession (Quality Hotels and Restaurants).
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a management role in a well-recognized luxury hospitality establishment or upscale cruise line.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Effective communication with senior management.
  • Ability to lead and make decisions.
  • Good administrative skills.
  • Experience in coaching subordinates.
  • Cost and quality consciousness.
  • Adherence to scheduled work hours with flexibility when required.
  • Working with international team members.
  • Performing duties under pressure (time constraints).
