Sponsorship Lead Role Overview
The role of the Sponsorship Lead involves developing and executing a comprehensive sponsorship strategy for live events, identifying potential partners and building a robust pipeline to convert opportunities into successful partnerships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the sponsorship strategy for live events, aligning it with brand objectives and event positioning.
- Identify potential sponsors, build a robust pipeline, and convert opportunities into signed partnerships, ensuring alignment with brand goals.
- Craft compelling sponsorship proposals and packages that meet brand objectives and event positioning, showcasing unique value propositions.
- Lead negotiations, contract closures, and relationship management with sponsors, fostering strong partnerships.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure sponsorship deliverables are met, driving cross-functional collaboration and communication.
- Stay updated on market trends, competitor activities, and brand spends in the live events & experiential industry, informing strategic decision-making.
- Drive revenue targets through sponsorship sales, ensuring repeat business and revenue growth.
- Represent the organization in industry forums, conferences, and networking events, strengthening brand presence and reputation.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Events or a related field, demonstrating a solid foundation in event management and marketing principles.
- 10–15 years of experience in sponsorship sales/business development for live events, festivals, sports, entertainment, or media, showcasing a proven track record of success.
- A strong network with brand decision-makers, agencies, and corporates, facilitating effective partnership development.
- Proven ability to close high-value sponsorship deals, leveraging negotiation skills and relationship management expertise.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, enabling effective stakeholder engagement and partnership development.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to align sponsorship opportunities with brand objectives, driving business growth and revenue expansion.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Passion for live events, culture, and experiences, driving creativity and innovation in sponsorship development.
