Global Accounts Manager Job Description

The Global Accounts Manager plays a crucial role in driving business growth by fostering strategic relationships with top exporters, importers, freight forwarders, shippers, and consignees.

Responsibilities:

  • Formulate and execute Sales & Marketing strategies aligned with the marketing plan process, budget targets, and approved by the Board and Line Management.
  • Explore new markets and opportunities to maintain and exceed Group market share. Monitor sales performance of Branches against targets and conduct regular visits to all branches.
  • Establish and maintain high-level contact with key clients to enforce Credit Control policies and minimize outstanding payments.
  • Cultivate close liaison with Operations, Documentation, CFS & Trucking functions to optimize capacity and resource allocation for synergistic customer service and commercial issue resolution.
  • Oversee overall regional operations from job openings to closures, system issues, and operational matters.
  • Maximize market penetration through optimal utilization of Sales & Marketing systems and timely reporting compliance.
  • Ensure organization-wide understanding of service plans, acceptance policies, and service scope aspects.
  • Determine macro-level sales promotion strategies and communicate them to regions for maximum impact.
  • Continuously monitor sub-agency performance and ensure proportionate contribution to the Line, promoting new ICDs and monitoring ICD performance.
  • Generate nominations and import leads, undertaking additional duties as advised by management.

Key Result Areas:

  • Achieve minimum 5 times Gross salary as Gross profit; ensure collections within credit period and onboard new customers.
  • Oversee overall regional operations, including job openings, closures, system issues, and operational matters.
  • Compile and collect data for periodic Senior Management and Principals' reporting, clearing disputed and claim-related shipments on time.
  • Prepare branch-wise, sector-wise, salesman-wise, and vessel-wise performance reports, monitoring cargo delays from top customers and ensuring no delay.
  • Action Items: Ensure renewal and adherence of Service Contracts, negotiate rates and contracts with top customers, and adhere to regulations for special equipment booking.

Educational Qualification(s):

  • Graduate or postgraduate degree Prior Experience: 10-15 years
  • Skills & Personal Attributes: Knowledge of Shipping Laws & Trade Practices, Good communication, industry knowledge, and self-driven approach.
