The Grand Kalpakavadi INN at Haripad is seeking a seasoned Sous Chef to join our culinary team. As a key member of the kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing and designing high-quality food and drinks menus that showcase the richness of South Indian cuisine.

Responsibilities:

  • Help in the preparation and design of all food and drinks menus, ensuring they meet our quality standards.
  • Produce exceptional plates that not only taste great but also visually appeal to our discerning customers.
  • Ensure the kitchen operates efficiently, meeting our expectations for productivity and customer satisfaction.
  • Fill in for the Executive Chef as needed, directing food preparation and managing kitchen operations.
  • Resourcefully solve any issues that arise and take charge of problematic situations to maintain seamless kitchen operations.
  • Manage and train kitchen staff, establishing working schedules and assessing their performance to ensure maximum efficiency.
  • Order supplies to stock inventory appropriately, maintaining optimal levels and preventing shortages.
  • Comply with and enforce sanitation regulations and safety standards, prioritizing the health and well-being of our guests and staff.
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers, fostering a collaborative and respectful work environment.

Requirements:

• Extensive experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment, preferably with South Indian cuisine expertise.

• Excellent culinary skills, including menu planning, food preparation, and presentation.

• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and train kitchen staff.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, adapting to changing circumstances and priorities.
