Job Title:

Regional Head – Sales

About the Role:

This is a dynamic leadership position that oversees commercial efforts across a designated region in India, focusing on maximizing market opportunities and driving business growth. The ideal candidate will possess strong industry experience, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Business Development Strategy:
    • Contribute to the development of BD strategies aimed at achieving Global Accounts growth objectives
    • Determine effective strategies for selected accounts to grow the share of business
    • Build wallet share of business for Biocon API business in India
  • Leading Sales and Account Management:
    • Lead operations and day-to-day activities to ensure smooth functioning of businesses and monthly order forecasting for production planning
    • Grow the share of business and expand relationships within customers, identifying influencers, gatekeepers, decision-makers, and direct/aligning with Global and Regional KAMs
    • Deploy a strong consultative selling approach with assigned accounts to identify supply chain challenges and develop value-creating solutions
    • Interact regularly with customers to ensure continuity of existing businesses from order receipt to shipment despatch as per customer requirements
    • Coordinate with the planning/produciton and logistics/shipping team to ensure timely despatch, shipping documentation provision, and payment receipt by due-dates
    • Necessary interaction/co-ordination with various departments for samples, regulatory requirements, DMFs, and other documentation for new customers and regulatory approvals to meet statutory requirements
    • Manage business development activities to add new customers and increase market coverage of existing products in untapped regions
    What We're Looking For:
    • A minimum of 15-20 years of relevant industry experience in API Sales and Business Development (India market focus preferred)
    • High energy individual with positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work in a hands-on, collaborative fashion with many different disciplines both inside and outside the company
    • Demonstrated experience in contributing to negotiation and closing partnership agreements
    • Strong leadership qualities, including excellent verbal and written communication skills, relationship management skills, strategic thinking, open-mindedness, and innovative thinking
    • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment with incomplete information
    • Good negotiation and presentation techniques
    • Well-versed sales techniques, consultative selling, customer psychology, and purchasing patterns
