Project Management Role

We are seeking a seasoned Project Manager to oversee our IT Project Management Office (PMO). This individual will be responsible for managing the IT project portfolio governance, enforcing project management frameworks, and ensuring successful execution of all IT projects.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage IT portfolio processes, including planning, governance, methodology framework, and resource capacity management.
  • Implement project management standards across the IT project portfolio.
  • Lead and mentor a team of project managers and coordinators, providing performance reviews, career growth, and training opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain staffing plans for internal and external resources, recommending long-term contractors or full-time additions.
  • Analyze project proposals to determine timelines, funding, and required processes.
  • Provide leadership and motivation to project teams throughout all project phases.
  • Establish effective project communication, including steering committee meetings and status reports.
  • Identify and manage project risks and issues, implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure project goals align with business objectives, delivering on time and within budget.
  • Employ agile/scrum methodologies while operating within the organization's SDLC framework.
  • Facilitate self-organizing agile teams, optimizing task distribution and execution.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field.
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in project management of complex IT projects.
  • Deep understanding of agile frameworks, such as Scrum, SAFe, Disciplined Agile, etc.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Background in Business Analysis.
  • Proven experience managing an IT Portfolio or PMO.
  • Prior team leadership/supervisory experience.
  • Experience managing external vendors and contract staff.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, engaging both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to set and meet goals, define schedules, allocate resources, and implement processes.
  • Strong ability to navigate ambiguity and bring clarity to teams.
  • Experience in software product development life cycles is mandatory.
  • Experience in the banking or financial services domain is required.
