Senior Mechanical Design Engineer Job

This is a challenging role that requires a highly skilled engineer to lead the mechanical design and development of Hybrid UAV systems and subsystems. We are seeking an individual with strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, CAD tools, and experience in product lifecycle management.

  • CAD-Based Mechanical Design & Ownership:
    • Develop complex CAD trees, system layouts, and 3D model integrity across revisions using advanced parametric CAD tools.
    • Lead the mechanical design of Hybrid UAV subsystems and payload interfaces.
  • TAD (Tooling & Assembly Definition):
    • Prepare assembly BOMs, jigs, and fixture interfaces for manufacturing teams.
    • Contribute to design improvements based on ease of assembly, maintainability, and ergonomics.
  • PLM Integration:
    • Experience in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems for version control, workflows, and digital thread management.
  • Structural Design & Collaboration:
    • Solid understanding of structural analysis fundamentals.
    • Ability to interpret FEA results, collaborate with analysis teams, and optimize design based on structural feedback.
  • Material Engineering & Manufacturability:
    • Strong knowledge of materials, including metals, polymers, and composites, with clear understanding of process-specific constraints.
    • Evaluate designs for manufacturability, cost efficiency, and reliability using DFM, DFX, and material selection tools.
  • Additive Manufacturing & 3D Printing:
    • Well-versed in 3D printing techniques and printer types.
    • Ability to select suitable grain structures, material properties, and post-processing requirements based on use-case.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Work closely with systems engineering, integration, sourcing, testing, and manufacturing teams.
    • Take ownership of design deliverables and ensure on-time maturity of the mechanical stack.
  • Root Cause Analysis:
    • Capable of understanding physical behavior and correlating with design definition to derive root causes.
