Purchase Executive – Nutraceuticals

The key objective of this role is to ensure the timely procurement of raw materials, packaging items, and other consumables required for cosmetic product manufacturing.

  • Procurement involves identifying and sourcing raw materials, active ingredients, fragrances, and packaging items for cosmetics in compliance with established regulations and standards.
  • This entails raising and managing purchase orders (POs) in line with production and inventory needs to ensure optimal stock levels and minimize delays.
  • The role also requires coordinating with vendors for price negotiations, lead times, and quality compliance to optimize costs and delivery timelines.
  • Evaluating vendor performance based on quality, delivery time, and cost is essential to maintain a reliable supply chain.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining records and documentation for audits and quality checks to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborating with the QA/QC department to ensure receipt of materials as per specifications to guarantee product quality.
  • Tracking and maintaining optimum inventory levels and updating the Inventory Management System to prevent stockouts and overstocking.
  • Coordinating logistics and following up for on-time delivery of materials to meet production deadlines.

Required Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of procurement processes in the cosmetics/pharma industry.
  • Familiarity with GMP, FDA, and cosmetic regulatory requirements.
  • Negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills.
  • Time management and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem-solving mindset and cost-conscious approach.
