Job Title

The Chief Engineer plays a pivotal role in leading the hotel's engineering department. This includes formulating and executing strategies that align with the company's mission, vision, values, and objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Develops and implements comprehensive strategies for the hotel engineering department to achieve operational excellence.
  • Monitors progress regularly and adjusts strategies as needed to ensure optimal results.
  • Collaborates with senior management to develop an annual business plan.
  • Participates in the development of annual marketing, sales, and yield management plans and strategies.
  • Continuously evaluates and improves hotel engineering operations to meet brand standards.
  • Optimizes profitability and revenue by effectively managing the Engineering department.
  • Oversees Engineering operations and third-party vendors to ensure exceptional service quality.
  • Develops and implements quality control programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Reviews contracts and negotiates revisions with vendors, consultants, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Interprets plans and contract terms with the Engineering team, management, clients, and vendors.
  • Maintains compliance with building safety codes, health, and safety laws, and other regulations.
  • Conducts regular walk-throughs to assess equipment efficiency and maintenance of hotel facilities.
  • Manages hotel renovations, coordinates project status with Regional Technical Services Office, architects, licensing agencies, contractors, and hotel management.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
