Project Financial Manager Job Description

Job Overview:

As a Project Financial Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring the financial success of projects by preparing and managing project budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage project budgets, annual/quarterly/monthly planning, and rolling forecasts to ensure accurate financial information.
  • Ensure timely invoicing, tax compliance, bonds, guarantees, financial accounting, and reporting to stakeholders.
  • Monitor and optimize project cash flow, revenues, and gross margin contribution to drive business growth.
  • Identify opportunities and risks, and implement mitigation actions to minimize financial impact.
  • Conduct monthly project reviews and joint responsibility for financial aspects, including estimate at completion and related cost-to-complete.
  • Promote commercial awareness within the project team and provide commercial input to the project execution plan.
  • Coordinate with clients for invoice approvals, payments, and compliance purposes.
  • Maintain an updated billing register, monitor site expenses, and report weekly project expenses to stakeholders.
  • Analyze actual vs. budget costs and revenue, highlighting potential issues to controllers and project managers.
  • Lead project actualization activities, coordinate data collection, and prepare finance-related slides for presentations.
  • Review KPIs against budgeted costs, check documents, and share project slides for monthly business review.
  • Perform comprehensive checks on provisions, monthly cash verification, and surprise verifications to ensure accuracy.
  • Lead internal financial control compliance and monitoring of agreements, bonds, and other guarantees.
  • Provide support to the execution team and become a core finance resource for all finance-related matters.
