Business Development Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated business development specialist to drive growth and success in our organization. This role combines research, strategic execution, communications, and relationship-building, offering a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of law, business, and media.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct market analysis and research to support business development initiatives.
  • Prepare submissions for rankings, directories, and awards.
  • Draft, maintain, and update company profiles, deal lists, experience lists, and marketing collateral.
  • Track market trends, legal developments, and competitor activity relevant to our organization and its practice areas.
  • Support PR and media outreach, including liaising with journalists, monitoring media opportunities, and preparing press materials.
  • Assist in planning and executing events, conferences, and thought-leadership initiatives.
  • Maintain and update internal trackers, databases, and business development dashboards on a real-time basis.
  • Draft internal and external communications, including newsletters, reports, and social media content.
  • Manage and grow our social media presence across relevant platforms.
  • Liaise with partners and teams across offices to coordinate business development projects and deliverables.
  • Streamline processes to improve efficiency and ensure high-quality outputs across all BD activities.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Law, Business, Communications, or a related field.
  • Experience in legal research, legal rankings, PR, or professional services is a plus.
  • Strong research, analytical, and writing skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and comfort with online databases, social media, and digital tools.
