
Lead Seed Development Specialist

Job Overview:
The Lead Seed Development Specialist will play a pivotal role in driving the development of high-quality seeds that meet our business objectives. This individual will be responsible for creating and implementing seed programs aligned with our finished goods plan, while also establishing strong relationships with growers, suppliers, and vendors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement seed programs to support our finished goods plan.
- Establish contract models that cater to different environments and grower needs.
- Negotiate seed contracts with growers through effective persuasion and price negotiation.
- BUILD Collaborative relationships with key stakeholders to drive business growth.
- Define accountabilities, responsibilities, and objectives for human resource management while rolling out seed programs.
- Import new varieties and align with variety leadership groups to communicate globally.
- Explore new varieties for both seed and processing attributes.
- Interface with government institutes like NBPGR, CPRI, PAU, and State Agriculture departments to ensure compliance and knowledge sharing.
- Ensure legal compliance of seed program, acquiring and implementing necessary licenses.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of chemicals, field operations, storage infrastructure, and equipment setup.
- Provide technical training to company staff and growers via meets and phone calls.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of potato or vegetable processing.
- Select and negotiate with cold storages for seed in Punjab/Haryana & UP, investing in technical upgrades.
- Administer annual and monthly reports, utilizing excellent oral and writing skills.
- Oversee Farm Food Safety audits and surveys to ensure compliance and improvements in farm practices.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in seed development, preferably in FMCG industry.
- Strong understanding of seed program development, including contract negotiation and relationship building.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and Google Suite.
