Farming Specialist

Opportunity Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated Trainee in Seed Contract Farming to join our team.

The primary objective of this role is to identify and develop new isolated geographies for potato seed multiplication. This entails achieving yield targets, maintaining the quality of the seed, and forecasting yields.

The successful candidate will be based out of Ludhiana, Punjab.

• Selecting new geographies for seed multiplication that are in isolation from ware potato crop and have good yield potential
• Developing the skills of growers for doing quality seed multiplication
• Selecting the best growers for seed multiplication through contract farming
• Establishing strong relationships with both current and new growers
• Planning for planting and procurement from farmers of targeted quantity and quality
• Providing technical assistance and advising growers on crop management

Requirements:

• Must have an Agriculture graduate with 2-5 years of experience in the agriculture industry, preferably contract farming and production of agriculture commodities
• Nice to have an Agri-MBA with 3-5 years of experience in potato contract farming
