Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced leader to oversee the scientific manuscript publication process. As a key member of our team, you will lead cross-functional teams across peer review, content writing, and video production to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of scientific publications.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage publishing operations to optimize workflow management and efficiency.
  • Oversee manuscript workflow from peer review to publication, maintaining timeliness, quality, and adherence to journal standards.
  • Identify inefficiencies and implement continuous improvement initiatives to boost throughput and reduce publication timelines.
  • Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies like AI to enhance productivity and improve the author experience.
  • Establish performance metrics and departmental goals; monitor performance and ensure accountability.
  • Maintain scientific rigor and editorial excellence across all published content, aligning with established standards.
  • Explore new sections or special issues in response to emerging research trends.

Requirements

  • A Master's or Ph.D. in life sciences or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in academic, scientific publishing, or edtech content production, specializing in managing publication workflows.
  • 7+ years of proven management experience.
  • Strong understanding of peer review, open access trends, and evolving scientific publishing models.
  • Experience with digital publishing technologies, Content Management System (CMS), and workflow automation tools.
  • Demonstrated expertise in integrating technology and digital tools to improve publishing workflows, quality, and efficiency.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a self-starter mindset.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work effectively in a global setting.
