Import Freight Operations Lead

A key member of our team, you will lead and manage the import freight operations for FCL, LCL, and consolidation. Your expertise will be invaluable in developing pricing strategies, negotiating rates with carriers, and maintaining strong relationships with shipping lines and overseas agents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee pre-alerts, booking coordination, documentation, customs compliance, and end-to-end import shipment handling.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure timely cargo clearance and delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with all local and international import regulations, customs laws, and trade compliance requirements.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and turnaround time for import processes.
  • Manage and mentor the import operations team – allocate resources, set KPIs, monitor performance, and provide ongoing training.
Required Skills & Experience:

Strong knowledge of international import practices, customs clearance procedures, documentation, and INCOTERMS.

Excellent leadership and people management abilities.

Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
