About this role

We seek an experienced legal expert to join our team, responsible for managing our global legal framework and ensuring adherence to international trade laws, data privacy regulations, and export control requirements.

Key responsibilities:

  • Review, draft, and negotiate agreements, ensuring they are legally sound and aligned with company policies and objectives.
  • Stay informed on international trade regulations and ensure compliance with global trade laws.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory frameworks, including SEBI and RBI.
  • Address compliance requirements related to freight documentation, shipping protocols, and export-import operations.
  • Handle disputes, claims, and notices from clients, partners, and regulatory bodies.
  • Represent the company in legal proceedings when required.
  • Mitigate penalties by addressing legal issues promptly.
  • Ensure adherence to fintech application regulations, including data security and financial transaction guidelines.
  • Conduct regular audits, risk assessments, and due diligence on business operations and third-party vendors.
  • Stay updated on compliance requirements under SEBI and MCA regulations.
  • Monitor global developments in software export and cross-border data transfers.
  • Provide advice on changes in legal and regulatory frameworks.
  • Support the company in managing and resolving disputes effectively.
  • Prepare reports and updates for management on compliance status and legal matters.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) is required; Master's degree or certifications in compliance, international trade law, or intellectual property are preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in legal and compliance roles, ideally in the software, IT, or export industry.
  • Strong understanding of international trade laws, customs regulations, and freight forwarding practices.
  • Strong understanding of SEBI, RBI, and other regulatory frameworks.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Experience managing relationships with regulatory authorities and external legal counsel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
