Job Title

Legal Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled Legal Consultant to join our team. As a key member of our legal department, you will be responsible for providing expert advice on various legal matters, drafting and reviewing contracts, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

About the Role

  • Provide expert legal advice to internal and external stakeholders on civil and criminal matters.
  • Draft and review contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
  • Conduct research and analysis on complex legal issues and provide recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take instructions from senior legal staff before commencing work on projects.
  • Pursue legal proceedings and prepare writs, defences, submissions, and pleadings in civil and criminal cases.
  • Carry out legal research, identifying important issues and advising on emerging legal trends.
  • Maintain accurate records of court matters involving the organization.

Liaison and Collaboration

  • Work closely with business development teams to identify and mitigate risks associated with land and real estate acquisitions.
  • Assist in formulating and implementing organizational policies.
  • Participate in strategy discussions for large-scale acquisitions.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB).
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in handling legal matters as a practicing attorney-at-law or in a corporate environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • High level of responsibility and confidentiality.
