Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic legal guidance and thought leadership to the business
  • Manage risk, provide analysis and advice, protect people and businesses, advocate for outcomes that benefit the firm and clients, and promote behavior consistent with the mission and culture
  • Offer legal counsel to the business, participate in initiatives, provide subject matter expertise and interpretations of relevant laws, rules, regulations, and industry practices, and advise management on legal matters impacting the business
  • Analyze and produce documentation while applying knowledge and risk appetite against industry standards, widely accepted practices, laws, rules, and regulatory guidelines, escalating as necessary
Required Skills:
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience, preferably in financial services or the banking industry, including knowledge of banking regulations
  • Understanding of international laws, regulations, and practices, staying up-to-date with the regulatory and legal environment, internal policies, and industry trends affecting the business
  • Experience with complex deals, demonstrated ability to analyze issues and develop solutions
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills, ability to build and maintain trusted relationships
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and relationship management skills
  • Able to apply sound judgment in managing assignments in a fast-paced environment
  • Bar license in good standing to practice law
  • Juris Doctorate or equivalent law degree
