Deputy Manager-Finance Role

This is a key position within our financial planning function, supporting business growth and strategy execution. The Deputy Manager-Finance will play a crucial role in delivering period forecasts and understanding key drivers of the Profit and Loss statement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting the preparation of forecasts and ongoing periodic business reports.
  • Working across multiple finance functions to deliver period forecasts and understand key drivers of the P&L.

Additionally, this role will involve working on key region customer initiatives to drive business and region performance. Key responsibilities include:

  • Performance analysis, including explanation of variance to plan, forecast, and year ago.
  • Supporting the annual operating plan process.
  • Creating channel customer promotional analysis to support business partners.
  • Maintaining complex Excel models.
  • Developing PowerPoint presentations to communicate business results and insights.
  • Managing exceptions through verbal and written interactions with sales and sales finance teams.
  • Collaborating with sales and finance functions on ad-hoc projects.
People Responsibilities:
  • Coaching and onboarding new members of the team in ways of working and processes.

This role requires creating an inclusive and collaborative environment. To succeed, you will need:

  • 2-5 years of experience in finance and planning for postgraduates in commerce, accounting, or finance.
  • 1-3 years of finance experience for chartered accountants preferred.
  • Experience in financial analysis, data integrity maintenance, and systems such as SAP, Business Objects, Essbase, forecasting, P&L understanding, trade promotions, reporting, analytics, and Tableau knowledge.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • The ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Capability of managing multiple time-sensitive priorities simultaneously.
  • Detail-oriented and organized approach to document maintenance.
  • Ability to function well in a team environment.
  • Consistently shows urgency, courtesy, and patience.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Proficiency in English language.

Essential qualities include being highly organized and responsive, with the ability to work to SLAs and tight deadlines, numerate, and a lateral thinker with good data analysis skills and a strong attention to detail.
