Chief Data Management Officer

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end delivery of data management projects, encompassing data engineering, data migration, data modernization, and data governance. This includes defining scalable and secure data architecture for data pipelines, warehousing, and processing systems, as well as evaluating and recommending appropriate tools and cloud services.

Key responsibilities include leading data strategy creation and implementation, ensuring risk management, escalation protocols, and change control processes are in place and effective. The Chief Data Management Officer will also lead end-to-end delivery of data management projects, ensuring scope, timeline, and quality objectives are consistently met.

Required skills and qualifications include experience in leading data engineering, data migration, data modernization, and data governance projects. A proven track record of ensuring delivery excellence through well-defined methodologies, standardized practices, and quality assurance frameworks is essential.

  • Define, implement, and enforce best practices and standards for data project execution.
  • Monitor project health through KPIs, metrics, and governance reviews.
  • Ensure risk management, escalation protocols, and change control processes are in place and effective.
  • Lead data strategy creation and implementation that helps the organization to effectively collect, manage, use, and protect its data to support business goals and drive value.
  • Lead architecture & design: Define scalable and secure data architecture for data pipelines, warehousing, and processing systems.
  • Technology Selection: Evaluate and recommend appropriate tools, platforms (e.g., Spark, Kafka, Airflow, Snowflake), and cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure).
