Sous Chef Job Summary

We are seeking an accomplished Sous Chef to join our culinary team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly skilled and experienced professional to take on a leadership role in our kitchen.

About the Role

  • As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for the overall success of our daily kitchen operations, including managing staff, food preparation, and maintaining high-quality standards.
  • You will work closely with the Executive Chef to ensure seamless kitchen operations, prepare and cook foods of all types, and assist in determining how food should be presented.
  • Your expertise in kitchen management, leadership, and culinary skills will be essential in delivering exceptional guest experiences and driving business results.
  • You will lead shifts while personally preparing food items and executing requests based on required specifications, utilize interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others, and advocate sound financial/business decision-making.
  • You will also supervise and coordinate activities of cooks and workers engaged in food preparation, maintain open, collaborative relationships with employees, and communicate performance expectations in accordance with job descriptions for each position.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in the culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area, or 2-year degree from an accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major.
  • Proven track record of leading high-performing teams, developing staff, and driving business growth through excellent customer service, quality products, and efficient operations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and respect among team members.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and maintain composure in fast-paced environments.
  • Passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences, maintaining high-quality standards, and promoting a positive company culture.
