The role of a Senior Bid Manager involves overseeing the entire process of bidding for business, from initial engagement to contract execution. Key responsibilities include working closely with New Business leads and account managers to develop a clear win strategy for each bid, ensuring that differentiators, discriminators, and price points are well articulated and compelling.

  • Developing a timeline and assigning roles to ensure all team members meet deadlines and keep the process organized and efficient is crucial.
  • Apart from this, it's essential to engage and collaborate with cross-functional bid teams, assign tasks, and ensure deadlines are met while resolving conflicts and maintaining momentum throughout the process.
  • Involvement in solutioning and commercial discussions is also necessary, contributing where possible to create a compelling bid proposal.
  • This includes overseeing the development of the bid proposal, ensuring clarity and persuasiveness, and creating and curating content as needed.

Additional responsibilities include understanding and coordinating accurate cost breakdowns and pricing strategies for bids, considering profitability and market competitiveness. Ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements of the tendering process is also vital.

Bid reviews are necessary to refine the proposal, ensuring clarity, consistency, and a compelling final product. This may involve incorporating feedback to strengthen the pitch. Following up with clients after bid submission, addressing any questions, and managing the transition to contract execution if successful are critical steps in the process.

An understanding of the relevant sector and industry knowledge is necessary to tailor proposals to client expectations and market trends. Strong project management skills, strategic thinking, and planning abilities are required to analyze proposal requirements and align them with client needs. Exceptional writing and communication skills are also essential to craft clear, persuasive, and concise bid content. Stakeholder management and attention to detail are also key qualities for success in this role.

Experience and qualifications typically required for this position include 5-7 years of experience in Proposal Management in B2B Sales, with at least 3 years in Creative Production and Retail Activation industry.
