Business Development Manager Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned business development manager to lead our techno-commercial research & advisory services in chemicals & materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive revenue growth by building proposals with minimum support from senior team members, gathering requirements during client briefings, and formulating winning research solutions for business problems.
  • Participate in business development tasks with senior colleagues' support, contributing to marketing outreach programs, industry capability decks, white papers, thought papers, articles, case studies, and more.
  • Lead the development of a team specializing in techno-commercial research & advisory services, ensuring their growth and recruitment as needed.
  • Handle all client communication, including query resolution, kick-off calls, deliverable presentations, and feedback calls.
  • Articulate technical, business, and analytical discussions through excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Apply strong analytical thinking and a technical background to generate insights and actionable recommendations.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in chemical & material or related fields or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum six years of experience in business research or consulting-type engagements.
  • Primary research experience, ability to train team members, and expertise in pricing & cost analysis are preferred.
  • End-to-end management of business research or consulting engagements, staying up-to-date with recent industry trends and challenges.
  • Past and current experience handling teams of qualified professionals.
  • Excellent knowledge of market analysis, business analysis, technology analysis, competitor intelligence, and advanced MS Office.
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of management.
  • Self-organization, planning, maturity, and attention to detail are essential qualities.
