Job Title:

Indirect Tax Advisory Associate

 

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Indirect Tax Advisory Associate to join our team. The successful candidate will have excellent analytical, research, and communication skills.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • In-depth analysis of legal provisions to provide valuable insights to clients.
  • Development of advises, opinions, and compliance reports that meet the highest standards of quality.
  • Preparation of engaging PowerPoint presentations for client meetings, trainings, and seminars.
  • Analysis of client data to estimate tax impact on business transactions.
  • Scenario building to identify the most tax-efficient business model.
  • Contribution to the development of articles, monographs, and other knowledge management materials.

 

Client Service Delivery/Execution:

 

  • Proactive identification and discussion of technical issues with clients while being mindful of firm risk issues.
  • Handling tax matters related to preparation of submissions, replies to notices, appeals, and representation during appeals.
  • Executing work on a multiple client base with near-independent responsibility for smaller clients.
  • Developing rapport with middle layers of client management.

 

Commercial Acumen:

 

  • Staying abreast of firm-wide and competitor activities as well as general business trends.
  • Applying knowledge to deliver solutions to clients and bringing value to the client and manager.

 

Networking & Identification of Opportunities:

 

  • Identifying new opportunities for existing clients and communicating with the manager.
  • Networking internally within the peer group and other levels in the firm to gain understanding of issues that may impact clients.
  • Compiling legal database and contributing to study sessions while continuously updating with latest legal developments.

 

Strong Knowledge Base:

 

  • Staying up-to-date with the latest developments in tax and other laws.
  • Contributing to the knowledge management activities of the firm.

 

Desired Skills and Competencies:

 

  • Excellent communication and drafting skills.
  • Strong analytical and researching skills.
  • Proactive, reliable, and detail-oriented individual.

 

Experience and Education:

 

  • CA or Law Graduate from a reputable institution with a strong academic track record.
  • 0-2 years of post-qualification experience in Indirect Tax in the field of litigation or advisory, preferably with GST and/or customs experience.
