The primary responsibility of this position is to oversee food production, ensuring efficiency and quality.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintain time management and cost control.
- Provide ongoing training to ensure adherence to standards.
- Ensure safe, quality food products and exceptional guest satisfaction.
- Develop and implement systems and procedures as set by the organization.
- Work within a technical area to improve service and product quality.
- Display an accommodating and helpful manner.
- Accept objectives set by others and work within agreed parameters.
- Mentor and support subordinates to boost morale and personal esteem.
- Enhance crew morale and maintain fair treatment of all team members.
- Ensure full adherence to menus, recipes, methods, and operational specifics provided by the organization.
- Seek direction from others when appropriate.
- Achieve set goals in a non-assertive and efficient manner.
- Conduct daily food tastings and correct discrepancies immediately.
- Monitor and assist Section Heads in preparing electronic requisitions.
- Ensure smooth and efficient service, presentation, and final plating during dinner service.
- Monitor production and preparation levels using the Culinary Checklist.
- Comply with Public Health regulations at all times.
- Advanced culinary skills, leadership, and experience.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in the profession (hotels and restaurants).
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a management role in a well-recognized hospitality establishment or upscale cruise line.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- Effective communication with senior management.
- Ability to lead and make decisions.
- Good administrative skills.
- Experience in coaching subordinates.
- Cost and quality consciousness.
- Flexibility with scheduled work hours.
- Working with international team members.
- Performing duties under pressure.
- Cruise Ship Experience or luxury hotel background.
- Fluency in additional languages.
This position requires a high level of motivation and dedication. Successful candidates must be able to work independently and as part of a team, adapting to changing situations and priorities.
