About the Role:

Ocean Lifespaces India Private Limited is seeking an experienced Tendering Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and managing bids for civil construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tender Preparation: Review and analyze tender documents, specifications, and drawings to understand project requirements.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and preliminary risk assessments for potential projects.
  • Develop and manage bid strategies in coordination with management to maximize competitiveness.
  • Cost Estimation: Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates by analyzing labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
  • Collaborate with procurement and project management teams to obtain cost inputs and negotiate pricing.
  • Factor in overheads, margins, and risk elements to ensure cost efficiency and profitability.
  • Technical Support: Work closely with design and engineering teams to ensure that project designs and plans are aligned with the requirements of the bid.
  • Provide technical clarifications during the bidding phase, addressing client queries and concerns.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Compile bid documents and ensure all technical and commercial details meet the client's specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordination and Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments (e.g., procurement, project management, finance) to gather all necessary information for the bid.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and suppliers to obtain quotes and align technical requirements.
  • Post-Tender Follow-up: Participate in post-bid meetings and negotiations, and make any required bid adjustments.
  • Follow up with clients on the tender outcome and gather feedback for continuous improvement.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in tendering or estimation within the civil construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of civil engineering concepts, project management, and construction methodologies.
  • Proficiency in estimating and costing software (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Project, Primavera, etc.).
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
