Job Description
As a Tendering Engineer, you will be responsible for preparing bids that meet our clients' requirements while ensuring our company's competitiveness. Your role will involve:
Tender Preparation
- Analyzing tender documents, specifications, and drawings to understand project requirements.
- Conducting feasibility studies and preliminary risk assessments for potential projects.
- Developing and managing bid strategies in coordination with management to maximize competitiveness.
- Preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates by analyzing labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Collaborating with procurement and project management teams to obtain cost inputs and negotiate pricing.
Technical Support
- Working closely with design and engineering teams to ensure that project designs and plans are aligned with the requirements of the bid.
- Providing technical clarifications during the bidding phase, addressing client queries and concerns.
Documentation and Compliance
- Compiling bid documents and ensuring all technical and commercial details meet the client's specifications.
- Ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
Coordination and Collaboration
- Collaborating with other departments (e.g., procurement, project management, finance) to gather all necessary information for the bid.
- Coordinating with external vendors and suppliers to obtain quotes and align technical requirements.
Post-Tender Follow-up
- Participating in post-bid meetings and negotiations, and making any required bid adjustments.
- Following up with clients on the tender outcome and gathering feedback for continuous improvement.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in tendering or estimation within the civil construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering concepts, project management, and construction methodologies.
- Proficiency in estimating and costing software (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Project, Primavera, etc.).
