Land Acquisition Specialist

Job Description:

  • The successful candidate will identify and acquire suitable land parcels for renewable energy projects in Maharashtra, taking into account technical feasibility, connectivity, and regulatory clearances.
  • They will lead the end-to-end land acquisition process, including scouting, negotiation, documentation, registration, and handover.
  • Key responsibilities include building and managing relationships with local landowners, agents, revenue officials, district-level authorities, and government departments.
  • Conducting title due diligence and ensuring legal sanctity of land through coordination with legal teams is also essential.
  • The ideal candidate will oversee RoW (Right of Way) acquisition, mutation, land conversion, and compliance with state-specific renewable energy policies.
  • Clear documentation, including agreements to sale, lease deeds, power of attorney, and land maps, must be ensured.
  • Keeping track of local land price trends, zoning regulations, and state incentives to ensure cost-effective deals is critical.
  • Supervising a field team of land officers, surveyors, and external consultants is also required.
  • Conflict resolution and addressing any legal or community-related land acquisition issues are additional key responsibilities.
  • Regularly updating management on project progress, risk factors, and mitigation plans is essential.

  • Strong knowledge of land acquisition laws and regulations in Maharashtra.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
