Site Reliability Engineer Job Description

At the heart of our operations, we require a seasoned Site Reliability Engineer to spearhead the reliability and high availability of our services.

We subscribe to a DevOps philosophy, where every engineering team is accountable for their software build and deployment. SREs play a pivotal role in ensuring teams possess the necessary tools, practices, and expertise to succeed in a blame-free culture.

Our mission is to empower developers with the tools to manage the entire software lifecycle and be self-sufficient. To achieve this, we are crafting an internal platform using cutting-edge technologies such as Kubernetes, Prometheus, Kotlin, and more.

The successful candidate will design, develop, harden, and maintain critical components of our internal platform (from CI/CD to developer tools aimed at increasing R&D productivity).

They will assist in migrating to leading industry CICD tools like GitHub Actions, automate safe deployment practices using tools like GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, Argo Rollouts, Helm Charts, etc.

In addition, the candidate will automate infrastructure provisioning and other engineering processes by working on automations built on top of an engineering platform written in GitHub Actions.

They will mentor and upskill other engineering team members, resolve challenging technical problems, and continuously test their skills.

The ideal candidate will have 5-8 years of experience, possess a deep understanding of large-scale complex systems from a reliability perspective, and have a passion for producing clean, standards-compliant, secure code.

They should have experience with Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform and Ansible, and programming languages such as Java, Kotlin, Scala, or any other JVM-based languages.

The candidate should also be able to identify time-consuming and error-prone manual tasks and then build/leverage tooling to automate them.

Nice-to-have skills include experience with cloud-based solutions, CI/CD platforms, Containers, Artifact Management tools, and Go programming language.
