Software Reliability Leader

We’re seeking a skilled Software Reliability Leader to join our team. As a critical member of our infrastructure and operations organization, you will play a key role in designing and developing software platforms that enable the provisioning and management of all services in a safe, reliable, and scalable manner.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop software for reliability and scale. This includes coaching teams on software reliability engineering best practices, utilizing Infrastructure-as-Code tooling like Terraform and Ansible to manage resources, and troubleshooting priority incidents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop software to automate manual operational work.
  • Collaborate with development teams throughout the lifecycle to help develop software for reliability and scale.
  • Coach teams on software reliability engineering best practices.
  • Troubleshoot priority incidents and ensure permanent closure.
  • Perform analytics on previous incidents and usage patterns to predict issues and take proactive actions.
  • Design automated software upgrades, change management, and release management solutions.
  • Optimize performance and cost for infrastructure.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for 24x7 support coverage as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, information technology, computer science, or similar.
  • 3+ years of professional experience.
  • Experience with administering Kubernetes clusters.
  • Experience with managing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
  • Direct production operations experience in a cloud environment.
  • Experience contributing to technology and product strategy.
  • Experience leading capability-building initiatives across diverse areas such as infrastructure and operations automation, observability, incident management, architecting HA systems, and other core engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience in driving operational efficiency and transparency of a growing engineering organization.
