
High Value Account Manager

The primary objective of this role is to manage high-value and complex accounts, ensuring timely recovery of outstanding dues while assessing and monitoring customer credit risk. This position demands a combination of strong negotiation skills and analytical prowess to identify at-risk accounts early.
This Senior Collection Agent will be responsible for managing their own portfolio as well as mentoring junior collection agents. The goal is to improve overall recovery performance and credit discipline by providing guidance on collection strategies, risk flags, and client engagement techniques.
- Account Management
The ideal candidate will handle a portfolio of priority accounts with overdue balances, ensuring maximum recovery through direct engagement with clients to negotiate payment terms, settlements, or repayment plans. They will also conduct thorough follow-ups via calls, emails, and written correspondence.
- Credit Risk Analysis
The Senior Collection Agent will review payment history and account behavior to identify early warning signs of potential defaults. They will provide feedback to the credit team on customers showing increased risk and support credit analysts in periodic reviews of customer creditworthiness based on payment patterns and outstanding exposure.
- Escalation Handling
They will manage complex cases involving disputes, bounced payments, or high-risk clients, working closely with the legal team on accounts requiring formal recovery actions or notices.
- Mentorship & Support
The Senior Collection Agent will provide guidance to junior collection agents on effective collection methods, risk flags, and client engagement techniques, assisting in training new hires on processes, systems, and best practices.
- Reporting & Documentation
They will maintain accurate records of all interactions, agreements, recovery actions, and risk indicators in the system and prepare weekly updates on portfolio performance, overdue trends, and potential problem accounts for the collections manager.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
The Senior Collection Agent will coordinate with the credit, finance, and sales teams to resolve disputes, review payment terms, and align recovery efforts with business goals.
QualificationsFor this role, we are looking for candidates with:
- Education: Bachelor's degree preferred; diploma or relevant certification in finance, business, or collections is an advantage.
- Experience: 3–5 years in collections, receivables management, or credit control, with exposure to credit risk assessment.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities under pressure.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and collections/accounting software.
