Business Control Specialist Job Description

As a Business Control Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring the effective operation of our businesses. Your primary responsibility will be to determine the applicability of individual regulations to our business and map these legal obligations to procedures or other supporting documentation.

  • Identify and assess regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Develop and maintain reference data to facilitate obligation mapping, including matrices of business activities, LEs, procedures, and control frameworks by product and country.
  • Compile procedure gap analysis data and make recommendations to senior managers on how these gaps should be addressed.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across various functions to ensure a clear and consistent interpretation of applicable obligations.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in financial services industry with background in business controls, operational risk, Compliance, Legal, Audit, or similar function with coverage of Markets Sales/Trading businesses.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to interpret complex legal text and provide clear recommendations.
  • Strong project management skills, with ability to instill structure, process, and accountability to meet ambitious production delivery targets while maintaining quality standards.
  • Detail-oriented approach, with high discipline and attention to quality control.
