Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Software Development Manager to lead our team of highly skilled engineers in building innovative pricing products for Amazon's Selling Partners worldwide. Our mission is to help Sellers across the globe grow their business by offering customers the best prices on the internet.

As a technical leader, you will own a set of core services, driving Operational Excellence and being a focal point for project management. You will work closely with engineers in a design-first methodology to architect and develop the best technical design and approach that embodies Operational Excellence.

The successful candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to multi-task, translate business requirements to engineering requirements, adapt quickly to new environments, and use creativity to solve difficult problems in a world-class engineering team.

  • Lead the overall product development life cycle
  • Manage and execute against project plans and delivery commitments
  • Manage the day-to-day activities of the engineering team within an Agile/Scrum environment
  • Manage team resources, hiring, mentoring, and enhancing and maintaining a world-class engineering team
  • Work closely with software development and design teams to deliver on product and services roadmap
  • Lead automation efforts for a team advancing a service ownership culture
  • Accountable for identifying commonalities across reported customer incidents and drive root cause efforts to understand and resolve these problems

Required Skills and Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of engineering experience
  • 3+ years of engineering team management experience
  • 7+ years of leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services experience
  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle
  • Experience partnering with product or program management teams
  • Bachelor's degree

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership
  • Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers
