Head of Health, Safety and Environment

We are seeking a highly motivated leader to join our team as the Head of Health, Safety and Environment.

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive health, safety and environment strategy aligned with our organization's overall business objectives.

The Role:

  • Developing and maintaining a comprehensive health, safety and environment strategy
  • Ensuring regulatory compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, standards and permits
  • Conducting regular risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implementing control measures
  • Investigating and analyzing incidents to determine root causes, implement corrective actions and prevent recurrence
  • Developing and maintaining emergency response plans and conducting regular drills
  • Delivering health, safety and environment training programs to employees at all levels
  • Tracking and reporting on key health, safety and environment performance indicators and identifying areas for improvement
  • Fostering a culture of continuous improvement in health, safety and environment performance through audits, inspections and benchmarking
  • Liaising and fostering strong communication channels and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health or a related field
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in health, safety and environment management, preferably in a metal and mining industry
  • Approved safety officer as per Odisha Factory Act
  • Strong knowledge of Factory Act, Environmental guidelines, health, safety and environment regulations, standards and best practices
  • Experience in greenfield/brownfield expansion projects
  • Experience in environmental compliance and permitting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
