Health and Safety Officer for Renewable Energy Projects

This role involves ensuring that all activities related to solar project comply with environmental, health, and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enforcing adherence to safety protocols, PPE usage, and regulatory standards during solar panel installation and maintenance.
  • Ensuring compliance with environmental laws regarding waste disposal, emissions, and water usage on solar sites.
  • Conducting regular inspections, hazard identification, and safety audits. Recommending corrective actions to mitigate risks.
  • Organizing daily pre-job briefings, safety inductions, and awareness programs for workers and subcontractors.
  • Investigating accidents and near misses, performing root cause analysis, and implementing preventive measures.
  • Maintaining emergency response plans and conducting drills for fire, electrical hazards, and medical emergencies.
  • Maintaining records of inspections, incidents, and safety equipment. Submitting reports to project managers and regulatory bodies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Engineering, Environmental Science, or Occupational Health & Safety.
  • Valid certifications: NEBOSH, OSHA, Fire Safety, First Aid.
  • 4–8 years of experience in solar, construction, or energy sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of JSA (Job Safety Analysis) and CAPA (Corrective Action Plans).
